Workshop – Doing good without burning out

Investing in your team’s wellbeing isn’t just good for your people—it helps prevent burnout, improves retention, strengthens collaboration and enables your organisation to sustain its impact. This workshop helps team members and leaders to improve their relationship with work, as members of a values-led sector that can sometimes overlook individual well-being.

When you’re focused on making the world better, your own wellbeing is often the first thing to slip.

After all, it’s not easy being someone who works for change. There are seemingly intractable issues to solve, hostile political environments, low budgets and a great sense of urgency and pressure to achieve change. So how can we look after ourselves better as individuals and team members?

This engaging, interactive workshop will explore why change-makers struggle to take care of themselves, and what we can do about it – as individuals, team members and leaders.

Through discussion, reflection and practical exercises, we’ll create space to step back from the day-to-day and reflect on how we work.

We will challenge some of the ideas about work in our sector, as well as some of your own assumptions about the role of work in your life – and will set out lots of practical yet profound ways you can rethink your relationship with work and look after yourself and your teams better.

You’ll leave with practical tools for managing pressure, setting healthier boundaries, supporting colleagues and building more sustainable ways of working. Most importantly, you’ll feel lighter, more supported and ready to put those ideas into practice—for yourself and your team.

The result is happier people, healthier teams and more sustainable organisations. It might even change your life!

You’ll explore:

  • Why wellbeing is so difficult in the social change sector
  • The beliefs and habits that keep us overworking
  • Practical ways to look after ourselves without compromising our impact
  • How to build healthier, more sustainable teams

Each participant will receive:

  • Interactive workshop
  • Follow up slides and additional digital resources
